Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way universities work, learn, and discover. At UNT System, AI services are a vital part of both our research enterprise and our day-to-day operations. By harnessing the power of AI, we are pushing the boundaries of innovation while streamlining the business of higher education. 

Completed AI Tools and Agents 

The UNT System is dedicated to providing GenAI tools while maintaining privacy, security, compliance standards and best practices. The following section outlines the completed GenAI tools and agents that were developed for the campus community.  The intended use cases of each tool are highlighted while providing a clear overview of how they support innovation and productivity within the campus community. 

Admissions Assistant Agent

The Admissions Assistant AI agent will leverage detailed set of instructions and a static set of documents (policies, procedures, best practices, and guidance) to guide students through a successful application process, enabling students to ask questions and receive natural language responses based on the documents provided to the agent. 

Academic Advisor Agent

 The Academic Advisor AI agent will leverage a detailed set of instructions which will request certain information to first be provided by the student, and a static set of documents (course descriptions, degree requirements, and scheduling details) to guide students through the course selection and scheduling process, enabling students to ask questions and receive natural language responses based on the documents provided to the agent.

HR Policy Assistant AI Agent

The HR Policy Assistant AI agent will be designed to help users quickly find and understand human resources policies. By asking questions in everyday language, users will be able to get clear, accurate answers based on official HR documents. This tool will simplify the navigation of policies for employees and managers and make it easier to get the information they need without having to search through lengthy manuals. 

IT Policy Assistant AI Agent

The IT Policy Assistant AI agent will be designed to help the campus community easily access and understand IT-related policies. By allowing users to ask questions in plain language, the assistant will provide clear, accurate responses based on official IT guidelines and documentation. It will streamline the process of finding information about security, data usage, software, and other IT topics, making it easier for the campus community to stay informed and compliant. 

Data Retention Policy Assistant AI Agent
The Data Retention Policy Assistant will be designed to help users understand and navigate data retention policiesIt will provide clear guidance on how long different types of data should be kept, how they should be stored, and when they should be deleted according to official policy. This tool supports compliance and data management efforts by making complex retention rules more accessible to the campus community. 
Lesson Plan Generator AI Agent
The Lesson Plan Generator will be designed to assist faculty members in creating customized lesson plans quickly and efficiently. By inputting key details such as subject, learning objectives, learning outcomes, and other relevant information, faculty members will receive a structured, standards-aligned lesson plan tailored to their specific course needs. This tool will support instructional planning and encourage creativity, making it easier for faculty members to focus on engaging and effective teaching. 
Grading Assistant AI Agent
The Grading Assistant will help faculty and staff evaluate student work more efficiently and consistently. By analyzing assignments, essays, or short answers based on provided rubrics or criteria, it will offer suggested grades and constructive feedback. This tool will be designed to support consistent and timely grading, reduce administrative workload, and allow instructor to focus more on student engagement and learning outcomes.
